CULTED

Over a 6 month period I worked for a Gen Z media company, catering to fashion, music & culture. The company catered to this generation, via employees who were apart of it; expressing a playful, relatable identity whilst retaining an educational foundation.

The role was junior video editor, which entailed finding footage from Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok, or directly from a brand. Using Photoshop & Premiere Pro I would then position the clips alongside music and a pre-narrated track and create educational, discussion or review videos about various topics. Within a few months, seeking further responsibilities I began writing, voicing and editing - handling the entirety of workflow personally in order to streamline the process.

This evolution of video creation is a testament to my constant drive to improve. I consistently aim to sharpen my tools by stepping out of my comfort zone, for example voiceovers weren't an element of video creation I ever expected to cover, but it felt right to challenge myself - in order to grow. Ultimately, I could voice the video with a pre-conceived notion of how I would edit it, accessorise with music and structure the clips.
